There is no video for today BUT I do have a weekend excursion for you.
Here’s what you’ll need …
- 30 minutes
- a cup of coffee/tea
- a quiet place
Your excursion into the Psalms this weekend will be to read Psalm 119.
It is the longest Psalm (176 verses) but it touches on all of the things we talked about in the Day 3 Video and the Navigator’s Hand Illustration of the Word of God (hearing, reading, “studying”, memorizing and meditating on the living and active Word of God).
In your walk through this Psalm, look for the following three themes:
- prayers to the Triune God so that He might open our eyes to understand the Scriptures
- memorization and meditation on the Word of God
- the daily troubles of life
The Psalms are not just meant to be read with the eyes but heard with the ears. They are songs, shouts, sighs and laments. If you would like to listen to me read Psalm 119 you can do so below. (I’ll be using the World English Bible-British Edition WEB-BE version of the Bible because it is in the public domain).
- Psalms 119:1-32 (audio)
- Psalm 119:33-72 (audio)
- Psalms 119:73-104 (audio)
- Psalm 119:105-144 (audio)
- Psalms 119:145-176 (audio)
